About the Role

Are you passionate about machine learning research and natural language processing? Abridge is seeking an ML Science Manager to lead a team of applied scientists dedicated to solving clinical and administrative challenges in healthcare. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and medical domain interest to drive impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage Research Team: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to foster the growth and success of the research team.
  • Advance Medical NLP: Innovate in areas like conversation summarization, evidence extraction, outcome prediction, and more.
  • Contribute Research: Share and publish original research while encouraging the team to do the same.
  • Define and Develop Solutions: Collaborate to identify problems, develop methods, and integrate solutions into production.
  • Incorporate Feedback: Engage with clinicians for real-time feedback to refine and innovate products.
  • Results-Oriented Approach: Ensure research initiatives have tangible impacts despite ambiguous challenges.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record with high-impact publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., ACL, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
  • Significant contributions to open-source and deployed technologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in programming and experience with deep learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Jax, TensorFlow).
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
