About the Job:

Join our Data Center Networking (DCNet) Delivery team at Google, where we manage a variety of critical data center deployment programs and projects. This includes everything from facility turn-ups and turndowns to expansions, refactors, and pilot introductions of new technologies. Within Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in not only maintaining our current stellar operations but also in driving the introduction of next-generation platforms across our global network.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. At least two years of experience in telecommunications at a carrier scale is necessary, specifically working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services. Experience is also required in OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and in managing relay rack/cabinet/cage construction. Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs), Deployment Package (DPK) device management, workflow completions, network issue identification, and solution assistance are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have experience managing or directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, and vendors within a telecommunications environment. Strong collaboration skills across various levels and functions are a plus, along with a demonstrated passion for influencing decision-making both tactically and strategically.

Responsibilities:

As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will own and serve as the primary point of contact for the execution, implementation, and maintenance of network builds across data centers, Points of Presence (POPs), and colocations. You’ll be responsible for a specific area while anticipating business needs and escalating issues proactively. Additionally, identifying new initiatives and driving global cross-functional programs/projects to optimize resources, improve processes, and introduce new products will be among your key responsibilities.
