Position Summary

As an Oil Research Analyst at Vitol, you will be entrusted with:

• Supplying top-tier research and analytical support to our frontline oil divisions and clients.
• Executing both quantitative and qualitative market assessments, including the interpretation of crucial balance and physical flow data.
• Ensuring research analyses are coherent, logically stemming from financials and market data.
• Strengthening and expanding relationships within the oil desk.
• Assisting commercial teams by providing impactful research that informs market environment assessments.
• Overseeing projects aimed at enhancing the overall capabilities of our research operations.

Qualifications

Prospective candidates should possess:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of robust experience in analysis within the oil/energy sector, potentially obtained at a leading investment bank, oil company, industry consultancy, or fund.
• An advanced quantitative educational background (MSc in Chemical Engineering, Economics or similar).
• Proficiency in quantitative methodologies and data analysis and manipulation.
• A solid grasp of accounting principles.
• Expertise in Python and Excel.
