Join Google Cloud as a Partner Engineer, Database

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Partner Engineer, Database to enhance our Google Cloud Database partner ecosystem. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of database technology and cloud solutions, supporting our partners and customers in navigating their digital transformation journeys.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 6 years experience in designing and migrating workloads to cloud environments, with a focus on enterprise-wide Oracle/DB2 to PostgreSQL, MYSQL, NOSQL databases.
• Proven ability to engage with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, influencing decision-making processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Robust experience in major technical roles such as technical sales, systems integration, data management, or professional consulting.
• Expertise in distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases.
• Skilled in building strategic business partnerships and managing high-impact projects with partners and customers.
• Deep understanding of Oracle database technologies, PL/SQL, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Strong capability to simplify complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience.

About the Job:

As part of our dynamic team, you will work closely with Partner Development Managers and Engineers to strengthen Google Cloud’s Database partner ecosystem. Your role involves leading the database efforts, enabling partners with advanced technical knowledge and solutions, thereby supporting customer adoption of Google Cloud.

Your contributions will directly impact our partners’ success in database migration projects from legacy systems (e.g., Oracle, DB2) to Google Cloud offerings, helping streamline application migration and deployment processes. You will also collaborate with Google Product and Engineering teams to anticipate industry trends and enhance Google Cloud products based on partner feedback.

Responsibilities:

• Identify business opportunities with partners for migrations to Google Cloud database solutions.
• Facilitate innovative solution development and proof-of-concept projects with partners.
• Design architecture and migration strategies that minimize effort, risk, and downtime.
• Demonstrate and prototype migrations in real-world scenarios, traveling as required to support partner and customer engagements.
• Advocate for the integration of Google Cloud best practices in partner and customer platforms.
