Your Mission

As a PhD Candidate in AI/ML for Airframe Engineering, your role will be pivotal in developing and evaluating trustworthy AI solutions for aviation. You will adhere to EASA guidelines and best practices to create AI systems that are accurate, efficient, safe, reliable, ethical, and transparent. Your contributions will enhance aviation processes, reduce errors, mitigate risks, and improve customer satisfaction and trust.

Working within an international and diverse team of data scientists, software developers, product managers, and engineers, you will explore new technologies and apply them to the aviation sector. Interact with experts inside and outside Airbus to share insights and ideas, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and surveys on AI for aviation
• Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms that meet strict requirements
• Evaluate and validate AI solutions using real-world data
• Publish and present research findings in top-tier journals and conferences
• Stay updated on IT, Data Analysis, and Data Science trends

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields with an AI/ML background
• Experience with AI/ML tools like Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Knowledge of AI standards and principles, including EASA’s AI Roadmap
• Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate within a team
• Strong communication and writing skills in English
