Pipeline Safety Data and Compliance Analyst Job Opportunity

Join our team as a Pipeline Safety Data and Compliance Analyst and become a crucial part of the MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure) Reconfirmation team. This role involves meticulously locating records to support reconfirmation activities for natural gas transmission pipelines. We seek individuals who excel in detail-oriented tasks and can work independently.

Responsibilities

As a Pipeline Safety Data and Compliance Analyst, you will:

  • Locate and review pressure test records following regulations such as 49 CFR 192 to ascertain if they are Traceable, Verifiable, and Complete (TVC).
  • Locate and review pipeline material records for material verification.
  • Provide documented substantiation for TVC determination or material verification.
  • Upload and geo-reference relevant documents into an asset records management application.
  • Update TVC status for pipe segments in the GIS platform.
  • Collaborate with survey, GIS, and other teams to ensure data consistency across platforms.
  • Update GIS data as required.
  • Provide weekly updates to the reconfirmation team.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in pipeline regulation compliance or construction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to recognize and interpret critical documents such as pressure test reports, wheel charts, OQ, survey reports, alignment sheets, material test records, purchase orders, mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve conflicting pipeline source documentation information.
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline system components, design, and construction.
  • Working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192.
  • Skilled at research and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and provide routine status updates.
  • Team-oriented with leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of API RP 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspection.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience with ASME B31.8.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to a Manager-level position or above.
