Position Overview: Autodesk, a leading force in design and analytics, is thrilled to announce an opening for a Principal Software Engineer on our Data Ingestion Team, part of the Analytics Data Organization. This team plays a crucial role in processing millions of records and files daily from all Autodesk products, creating and managing batch ingestion pipelines, and developing streamlined ingestion patterns for our internal data platforms.

As a Principal Software Engineer based in Pune, you will leverage your expertise to drive best practices and make architectural decisions that significantly improve our critical data processing and analytics pipelines. You'll collaborate with top-tier software engineers and lead initiatives that address complex and cutting-edge engineering problems, increasing data accessibility for users and enhancing platform reliability, scalability, and resiliency. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a key player on the team, you’ll:

• Shape the team’s vision and strategize to maximize impact at a vast scale.
• Architect systems tailored to meet high-scale needs, focusing on scalability and extension.
• Identify and resolve intricate issues in distributed systems, documenting technical solutions and planning rapid, iterative improvements.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure the performance of high-availability, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices for code consistency and efficiency.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automation testing.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
• Promote an inclusive work environment that values trust and respect.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8-12 years of experience in backend distributed systems and cloud computing using Java/Python & SQL.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL, dimensional modeling, at least one relational database, and contributions to ERD.
• Proficiency in automation tools like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and CloudFormation, as well as AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with:

• Data ingestion and SQL databases.
• Hadoop/Spark, Hive, Snowflake, and Hadoop 2.0 ecosystem.
• Workflow automation tools like Airflow.
