About the Role

In this role, you will design and develop major new features in existing systems, improve engineering and operational practices, and mentor team members. You will write secure, maintainable, and robust code along with appropriate tests. Your responsibilities will include driving the design and operational readiness of features and subsystems, collaborating on planning, and identifying and mitigating risks across the organization. You will frequently identify and remediate issues independently and contribute to root cause analysis efforts.

About OCI Security Products Group

Our OCI Security Products Group builds comprehensive product portfolios to safeguard customers’ cloud environments with innovative strategies and efficiency. Our core security pillars include customer isolation, data encryption, security controls, and visibility. We are committed to constructing the most secure cloud environment, enabling customers to confidently build their applications on OCI. We focus on detecting system vulnerabilities, threat activities, and providing solutions to protect customers' cloud environments based on industry best practices such as CVE and CIS.

Ideal Candidate

We seek engineers with distributed systems experience. You should have a track record of designing, developing, and launching major features into production. Experience with high-scale services, data compliance, security, and resilience is crucial. The ideal candidate will own software design for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure and possess deep expertise in both the technical stack and low-level systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-12 years in distributed service engineering in a software development environment.
  • BS/MS degree in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong development experience in Java, Go, C++, C#, or similar OO languages.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud security.
  • 5+ years using and developing infrastructure and applications on public clouds.
  • Experience with Elastic Search, Kafka, Redis, and ML Operations.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and standard network architectures.
  • Experience with databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Developing services on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
  • Building CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules.
  • Automating OS patching.
  • Applying threat modeling or risk identification techniques to develop security solutions.
  • Knowledge of Cryptography, DDoS, CVE, CIS, SAST, DAST, or similar areas.
