Who We Are

HII-Mission Technologies is on the lookout for a Principal Military Analyst to join the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) operations in Honolulu, HI. The successful candidate will support the Operational Research Team by conducting both quantitative and qualitative operational research aimed at refining U.S. plans and policies. This role involves creating realistic operational scenarios, supporting intricate modeling and simulation (M&S) activities, leading seminars, analyzing data, and presenting in-depth findings to high-level stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

As a Principal Military Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with the Indo-Pacific planning community to focus research efforts
  • Designing studies grounded in the Scientific Method
  • Developing realistic scenarios for operational research
  • Supporting quantitative research by collaborating with M&S experts
  • Employing qualitative research methods, including the Socratic Method
  • Analyzing data to propose improvements to U.S. plans and policies
  • Presenting findings to planners and senior leaders
  • Mining data for use by M&S subject matter experts

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma with 13 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to Oahu, HI
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and time management skills

Preferred:

  • 20+ years of relevant experience with a B.S. degree; 18+ years with a Master’s; 15+ years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma with 24 years of relevant experience
  • Graduation from Service Advanced Studies Group School (e.g., SAMS, SAW, MAWS, SAASS, JAWS)
  • Extensive experience in military joint operational planning and operational arts at the campaign/theater-strategic level in the USINDOPACOM Theater
  • Proficiency in operations research
  • Familiarity with the Scientific Method and Socratic Method
  • Experience with Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) system outputs
  • Wargaming experience at the campaign/theater-strategic level
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Science fields such as Decision Theory and Behavioral Economics
