Role Overview

We're seeking a Principal Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance applications for Clario's respiratory data processing capabilities. As a pivotal member of our team, you will focus on automation, data quality assessments, and immersive visualizations/reporting processes. In addition, you'll serve as a technical lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple product, system, and platform aspects. You'll collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Science teams to drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain software applications based on business needs.
  • Engage in development lifecycle decisions and component/service planning.
  • Contribute to project specifications, PDS templates, and deployment schedules.
  • Manage complex, customized client implementations alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Development on requirements and design specifications for new features.
  • Ensure architectural direction aligns with customer and service organization needs.
  • Lead operational readiness tasks: pilot projects, internal validation, Kaizen, etc.
  • Maintain coding guidelines and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
  • Review code developed by peers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Understand and anticipate technical issues to make informed architectural/design decisions.
  • Write clean, guided code and adhere to best practices consistently.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and maintain SOPs & SWIs for project development.
  • Enhance project delivery metrics, focusing on productivity, cost, delivery, and quality.
  • Communicate effectively across functions and collaborate with Designers, Quality, Translations, and PMs.
  • Address and resolve technical team issues, negotiating timelines, schedules, and technical changes.
  • Promote teamwork and unity within the department.
  • Identify and implement tools and process enhancements.
  • Influence architecture, design, and technology standards for products.
  • Investigate and resolve technical support issues.
  • Overcome coding obstacles efficiently, seeking assistance as needed.
  • Proactively identify problems with requirements and communicate issues for timely resolution.
  • Adhere to Clario Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical/project teams.
  • Conduct training sessions within and across departments.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Set strategic short to medium-term tools & technical direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years as a full-stack developer, including experience as a lead developer.
  • Fluency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, Typescript, SQL).
  • 2+ years with cloud-native and hybrid cloud deployment architectures (e.g., Lambda/Azure Functions, Containers).
  • Experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with BI/Reporting tools (e.g., Logi, Tableau, MS Power BI).
  • Experience with AI tools/frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, Scikit, Keras, Pytorch, Jupyter).
  • Experience in clinical trial or pharmaceutical software development is a plus.
