The Role: Laravel Engineer for AI Team

We are seeking a talented Laravel engineer to join our new, dedicated AI team. Your mission will be to create impactful generative AI experiences for our 14,000+ customers. Learn more about our team dynamics and what each team focuses on .

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, sales, customer success, and engineering teams to develop features that solve key problems.
• Build valuable AI features that enhance our customers' business operations.
• Create magical user experiences that are easy to use and maintain.
• Contribute to product shaping discussions and iterate based on customer feedback.
• Innovate and solve complex issues at scale.
• Work with our monolithic codebase and micro-services on a Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Implement observability tools to track and debug post-deployment.
• Optimize performance and address high resource usage issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend development.
• Expertise in Laravel, PHP 8.1+, MySQL, and testing pipelines.
• Experience with shipping production-level AI products using OpenAI APIs.
• A knack for building and optimizing AI models (e.g., Mistral, Llama3).
• Strong communication skills, especially written, given our fully distributed team.
• A 'shipping' mindset: passion for seeing real customers use your features and iterating based on feedback.
• Empathy toward customers and teammates, and a self-motivated approach.
• Experience with query optimization and queue/job-centric backends is a plus.
