Competitive Salary and Comprehensive Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $97,000.00 and $156,000.00, based on individual qualifications, experiences, and current market compensation. This role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Job Summary
The AI/ML Platforms and Services Product Owner supports the Head of Data & AI/ML Products in executing the data product strategy, vision, and roadmap.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Build, prioritize, and maintain a comprehensive product backlog for data solutions products.
- Collaborate with various roles across the business, from the executive team to data engineers.
- Assist in product and client roadmap planning.
- Advocate for a shift from rules-based to adaptive, AI-based solutions.
- Plan product release contents and timelines, drive execution to maximize value shipped.
- Work with product management to align team’s roadmap with the program vision and priorities.
- Analyze and translate client/business requirements into functional requirements.
- Validate software designs against requirements and communicate product dependencies and system limitations.
- Review and validate test cases to ensure design meets defined requirements.
- Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
- Set team goals and lead through the agile process, including planning, refinement, review, and sprints.
- Serve as the product expert supporting internal stakeholders.
Position Specifications
- 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination.
- 3+ years as an agile product owner.
- Dynamic, articulate, energetic personality with the ability to translate strategy into development plans.
- Proficiency interacting with executives, subject matter experts, and technology professionals.
- Ability to understand and solve problems with impactful solutions balancing effort and objectives.
- Strong people and communication skills to establish rapport across the company.
- Technical aptitude to work with cloud technologies, APIs, databases, and visualization tools.
- Experience driving solutions from concept to delivery.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Agile Project Management tools (VersionOne, JIRA).
Preferred Skills
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile Scrum environment.
- 5 years performing Agile methodologies.
- Experience with databases, data engineering, data flow, and ML systems.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.
