Job Summary

The Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Smart Digital Factory and Automation (SDF&A) team is looking for a passionate and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) to join our Sensors portfolio. This onsite role in Andover, MA involves developing and maintaining physical and digital automation solutions such as robots, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems and their integrations with business systems. The position offers significant growth opportunities, including new automation initiatives and presenting to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve and troubleshoot deployed automation systems.
  • Integrate and manage spare parts inventory for active and upcoming systems.
  • Collaborate with the factory on in-house and externally developed process automation systems, spanning both physical and digital automation.
  • Manage full project lifecycle from requirements generation to technical project management to execution and sustainment.
  • Program front-end visualizations in Ignition to drive data-driven decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (typically requires 5+ years of experience in relevant fields) or an advanced STEM degree (with 3+ years of experience including internships).
  • Experience in automation mechanisms, controls, robotics, and/or vision systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
  • Microprocessor or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming experience.
  • Python or Ignition-based scripting experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with Fanuc Robotics, Rockwell PLC, Keyence, Cognex, and iRVision.
  • Programming Experience.
  • Manufacturing or controls background.
  • CORE certification.

The salary range for this role is $77,000 - $163,000. Factors such as role function, work experience, education, and skills are considered when extending an offer. Hired applicants will be eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more.
