You will be closely working with groups from security, construction, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources, collaborating with both employees and contractors to achieve health and safety objectives. As AWS boosts data capacity, you will partner with construction managers to identify and mitigate risks prior to live operations. This role suits an experienced Safety Specialist or Safety Engineer, primarily responsible for supporting safety operations in Data Centers. You will form part of a regional and global team, interacting closely with onsite physical security, vendors, compliance officers, risk management, fire/life safety systems, employees, and contractors. Strong communication skills are vital to this role, and you’ll be tasked with advising, training, and guiding company staff on safety policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include implementing safety standards and best practices, developing and delivering training content, managing the training database, collaborating with outside vendors, ensuring compliance with global safety programs and local regulations, developing safety plans for on-site emergencies, performing safety data analysis, ensuring safety record keeping, consulting with compliance teams, and developing solutions to mitigate risks. Flexibility is essential in order to adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing circumstances, strategies, and deadlines. The role will involve providing safety support to regions outside the local cluster when required and includes other duties as assigned. You will report to the Regional Safety Manager based in CDG and be responsible for enhancing the safety of operations and construction. This role involves some domestic and international travel. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Zurich, CHE Basic Qualifications Occupational Safety Specialist in accordance with the Swiss Law Art. 11(d) VUV : - Occupational engineers or safety professionals who meet the requirements of Ordinance of 25 November 1996 on the Qualification of Occupational Safety Specialists ; or - Safety specialists who have successfully passed the federal exam for occupational safety and health specialists, in accordance with Examination Ordinance of 7 August 2017 on the professional examination for occupational safety and health specialists - A minimum of 5+ years of field experience in Safety. Preferred Qualifications - Good knowledge of the MSST directive and local H&S regulation. - Strong knowledge of local safety and health regulatory laws, practices, and workplace safety. - Experience or knowledge of implementing safety programs, processes, and procedural documentation. - Background in industries such as data center, manufacturing, construction. - Excellent communication skills. - High ethical standards, confidentiality skills, and excellent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy. - Experience in a fast-paced, changing or growing organization. - Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies. - Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
