Our Global Business Unit collaborates with universities, government agencies, businesses, and other organizations to provide our top-notch labor market data to address their challenges in Britain, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific regions. As a Research Analyst, you will be part of the Global Research team, which utilizes data to generate innovative research, consulting reports, datasets, models, and visualizations to answer our clients' most urgent research inquiries. You are expected to develop and deliver insights for our customers and contribute to innovations in our growing range of labor market analytics. You should be passionate about finding answers to questions related to the evolving economy, the future of education, and the future of work, possessing advanced quantitative skills. Collaborating with customers and colleagues, you should excel in understanding problems, designing solutions, and creating compelling presentations and reports. You should be comfortable working independently on big data projects across various markets and sectors. Some of our recent work includes research on future trends for the engineering workforce, the impact of the green transition on labor market demand, and analysis on how universities and colleges can better align their education provision to current and future labor market needs. This position reports to the Head of Global Research. We predominantly work remotely, and you can choose to be based in either the United Kingdom or Italy. However, your presence in the office is required occasionally. Core responsibilities: - Design and perform quantitative labor market analysis using Lightcast data and other data sources for external clients. - Conduct internal research projects to create data and apply it to new problems as well as for marketing purposes. - Collaborate with colleagues to improve the value of our work and enhance customer service. - Develop knowledge of issues concerning the future of work and skills for key stakeholders in countries outside North America. - Contribute to a positive team culture by working flexibly and cooperatively with colleagues across the business unit. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Strong analytical skills and proficiency in big data handling. - Proficiency in SQL, Python, or related analytical tools and programming languages. - Ability to derive conclusions from numbers, trends, and data. - Powerful written and verbal communication skills, and a capacity to simplify complex economic or analytical concepts. - Exceptional attention to detail in both quantitative analyses and technical writing. - Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. - Ability to work independently and meet milestones across different geographies and sectors. - Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team. - Knowledge of any language other than English would be advantageous. Credentials and Experience: - At least a bachelor's degree in a field with strong quantitative and analytic focus or 2 years of relevant experience in consulting, think-tank, or strategy and policy roles. - Experience in making and conveying data-driven decisions preferably in consulting, economic analysis, or labor market intelligence related roles.
