RTX, a leader in aerospace innovation, is seeking a talented Research Engineer specializing in Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) for our Connected & Real-time Systems Group based in Cork, Ireland. This role is ideal for candidates who possess a solid theoretical base and proven expertise in CNS technologies geared towards revolutionary aerospace applications.

Your Role:

You will be engaged in the full spectrum of research activities from conceptualizing cutting-edge technologies in CNS to their successful demonstration. This includes:

• Developing operational analyses (CONOPS and OSED) of emerging CNS-based operations.
• Designing and prototyping next-generation CNS services for high-and low-altitude operations across various platforms such as HAPS, IAM, U-Space, and space-based systems.
• Carrying out performance analyses of advanced RF and photonics-based CNS technologies, ensuring their compatibility and compliance within current regulatory frameworks.

Who We Are Looking For:

You are a proactive self-starter with a strong academic background in Computer Science, Aeronautical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. A MS or PhD degree and a few years of related professional experience would be advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within international and interdisciplinary teams. You should be open to continually adapting to new challenges and enthusiastic about forging technological advancements.
