Meta, a pioneer in digital innovation, is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to enhance our Site Engineering Robotics Team. The role focuses on Robotics and Autonomous Software Systems within our cutting-edge Data Center Robotics and Physical Automation program.
Key Responsibilities
As a Robotics Automation Engineer, you will:
- Develop industrial robotic solutions as part of the IDC Robotics team.
- Tackle complex challenges in robot sensing enablement, including robot localization, navigation, and obstacle avoidance.
- Enhance core robot functionalities such as sensing, controls, uptime, and network communications.
- Lead technology solution delivery spanning from requirements review to production release.
- Effectively manage project issues, risks, and schedules, and participate in usability testing activities.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and system engineers to ensure optimal design and functionality.
- Support software production tool training and documentation efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Python/C++ programming.
- Proven expertise with robotic platforms such as ROS or ROS2.
- Advanced skills in mapping, navigation, manipulation, and image processing (using software like OpenCV).
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate electromechanical systems and develop solutions.
- Experience in defining use cases and translating user requirements into actionable insights.
- Ability to drive innovation through analytical results.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates would possess:
- An MS or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Specialization in areas such as robot localization and navigation, hardware sensing, or computer vision.
- Experience with full-stack development, automated remediation, and solution scalability.
- A deep understanding of robotic manufacturing practices and quality systems.

Salary and Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary ranging from US$170,000 to US$240,000/year, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Specific compensation is based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
