Job Description: Data Principal Scientist
The Principal Data Scientist plays a dual role at Nurun. You are the guardian and advocate of a data-centric culture within our agency and a leader in client data consultation projects.
Responsibilities as Practice Leader:
- Estimate and define the quality standards for projects.
- Serve as a technical reference for teams.
- Monitor trends, best practices, and new tools in Analytics, ML, AI, etc.
- Help define the vision for the data practice (Analytics & AI) at Nurun.
- Participate in evolving our service offerings and tools.
- Promote data democratization within Nurun.
Responsibilities in Data Consultation Projects:
- Analyze performance, define measurement objectives, and track performance in the initial project phases.
- Recommend and implement best practices for data organization and structuring.
- Set up dashboards and configure visualization tools for clients.
- Support the implementation of performance tracking tools like Piwik and GA4.
- Help clients leverage AI and machine learning models in their products.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in French and English (ESSENTIAL).
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Comfortable presenting and sharing your enthusiasm for data within the agency.
- Proficient in accessing various databases and creating advanced data queries. Strong knowledge of SQL and expert knowledge of Python or R.
- Proven experience in machine learning, including model creation, maintenance, and mentoring analysts.
- Advanced knowledge of data models, infrastructure, and architecture.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, providing clear guidance to clients who may not fully understand data implications.
- Proven expertise in data quality, including cleaning techniques and data integrity verification.
- Proficient in data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Quicksight, or similar.
- Skilled in merging and analyzing different data sets to provide clear and precise analyses.
- Good knowledge of Google Analytics 4.
