About the Role

At Borealis, we are committed to making machine learning a reality within our operations. As part of our strategic initiative for process intensification through digitalization, we are enhancing our capabilities in Advanced Data Analytics. Join our "Digital Innovation Team," a core competence center within our R&D department, dedicated to developing advanced machine learning methodologies for digitally describing and predicting Borealis’s core operations.

In this dynamic role, you will be instrumental in supporting Borealis’ programs and R&D projects with a particular focus on reinforced learning. You will actively engage in the development, validation, and deployment of data science methodologies across various Borealis processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning solutions
  • Collaborate with teams on R&D programs and projects
  • Identify innovative digitalization solutions
  • Plan, execute, lead, and connect project tasks
  • Maintain and further develop procedures and routines
  • Publish latest innovations in collaboration with our IPR department and R&D team
  • Actively maintain a robust internal and external network with universities, research institutes, and software suppliers

About You

You hold a Ph.D. in Process Engineering, Polymer Physics, or possess extensive professional experience with a master’s degree in related fields. You are adept in machine learning methodologies, particularly reinforced learning techniques, and have strong programming skills alongside experience in managing big data. Your knowledge of industrial processes and polymer properties is complemented by a solid understanding of data science and emerging technologies. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are essential, as is fluency in English.

We are seeking an analytical pioneer who combines scientific rigor with a zest for translating observations into actionable insights and enjoys collaborative endeavors across various professional spheres.

According to Austrian law regulations, we offer a competitive compensation that reflects your experience, skills, and competencies. Starting from an annual gross salary of EUR 60,212.18 based on a 38-hour week, supplemented with the potential for a higher salary depending on your background, alongside hybrid working options, a yearly bonus, and a voluntary company pension plan.
