About the Role

Strategy Implementation

Assist in creating sub-divisional strategies aligned with overarching divisional goals. Ensure effective implementation by providing direction, structure, business plans, and support.

Staff Leadership and Management

• Provide direction to internal and external resources during the selection and implementation of business systems.
• Lead the design, capacity monitoring, and planning of IT application and system portfolios.
• Direct and monitor the work of the SI (Service/System Integrator).
• Evaluate technology vendors and performance under the management of the systems integration partner.
• Define the baseline and target architecture, perform gap analysis, and create migration plans for IS projects.

Governance

Adhoc and Operational Meetings

• Set up and participate in adhoc and operational meetings
• Report at the process and functional level

Escalations

• Manage and resolve escalations that impact the critical path of architecture delivery.
• Escalate issues that may significantly affect time, scope, employee/client experience, or costs if unresolved.
• Provide formal resolutions to complex issues.

Opco Operational

• Set up and manage architecture status meetings
• Review and identify key risks, issues, and dependencies; set mitigation actions
• Manage budgets and make operational change decisions

Performance

• Provide input for performance reviews against agreed KPIs
• Create and monitor plans for continuous improvement

Reporting

• Provide input into weekly/monthly reports on sub-divisional progress
• Review reports on specific architecture projects as per the defined timelines

Operational Delivery

• Plan and design information systems according to organizational goals, needs, and objectives
• Define baseline and target architectures, perform gap analysis, and create migration plans for IT/ICT projects
• Define roadmap components and assess impacts across the architecture landscape
• Create usable architecture definition documents for decision-making in IT/ICT-related business decisions
• Maintain the IS application map portfolio lifecycle
• Follow MTN Group architecture framework and maintain architecture continuum
• Lead capacity planning of IT application and system portfolios
• Propose changes in process, policy, and standards related to architecture and design principles
• Ensure technological awareness and align application maps with MTN's roadmap for future services and products
• Collaborate with various businesses and IT stakeholders to define technical requirements and service levels
• Develop and document architecture patterns, stacks, models, and technical specifications
• Provide direction during the selection and implementation of business systems
• Offer technical leadership and direction to enhance business systems
• Research and stay updated on emerging technologies and solutions
• Assess business requirements and generate technical requirements for new or enhanced IT solutions
• Lead estimation, analysis, design, and implementation of business solutions for complex projects and programs
• Ensure delivered features and solutions address business needs
• Define interactions between application packages, databases, and middleware systems
• Lead teams in resolving complex technical problems
• Provide technical expertise for strategic business planning related to product and feature development

Qualifications

Required:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering
