Job Description
Publicis Sapient is seeking a Data Engineer to join our premier team of technologists. You'll drive and deliver technical solutions for large, digital transformation projects. By employing the latest data technologies in the industry, you'll be essential in aiding our clients as they prepare for a more digitally-forward future.
Your Daily Duties & Impact:
- With your technical expertise and passion for problem-solving, work intimately with clients, transforming complex concepts into end-to-end solutions that spur our clients' business growth.
- Lead, architect, build, and bring to fruition large-scale data systems, data processing, and data transformation projects creating tangible business value for clients.
- Automate data platform operations and oversee the post-production systems and processes.
- Conduct technical feasibility assessments and provide project estimates for the solution's design and development.
- Provide technical knowledge for agile processes, such as epic, story, and task definition to resolve issues and remove impediments during the lifecycle of client engagements.
- Create and maintain infrastructure-as-code for cloud, on-site, and hybrid environments utilizing tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Helm, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Guide, assist, and promote the professional development of junior team members.
Qualifications
Your Technical Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with data platforms comprised of end-to-end data pipeline implementation.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud data platform (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).
- Practical experience with column-oriented database technologies (i.e., Big Query, Redshift, Vertica), NoSQL database technologies (i.e., DynamoDB, BigTable, Cosmos DB, etc.), and traditional database systems (i.e., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Experience in establishing data pipelines for both streaming and batch integrations utilizing tools/frameworks like Azure Data Factory, Glue ETL, Lambda, Spark, Spark Streaming, etc.
- Capable of assuming module or track level responsibilities and performing practical “hands-on” tasks.
- Experience in data modeling, warehouse design, and fact/dimension implementations.
- Experience working with code repositories and continuous integration.
- Data modeling, querying, and optimization for relational, NoSQL, timeseries, and graph databases, and data warehouses and data lakes.
- Data processing programming using SQL, DBT, Python, and similar tools.
- Logical programming in Python, Spark, PySpark, Java, Javascript, and/or Scala.
- Data ingest, validation, and enrichment pipeline design and implementation.
- Cloud-native data platform design with focus on streaming and event-driven architectures.
- Test programming using automated testing frameworks, data validation and quality frameworks, and data lineage frameworks.
- Metadata definition and management using data catalogs, service catalogs, and stewardship tools like OpenMetadata, DataHub, Alation, AWS Glue Catalog, Google Data Catalog, etc.
- Code review and mentorship.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

- Developer certifications for any of the cloud services like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or Snowflake.
- Understanding of development and project methodologies.
- Willingness to travel.
