Ford Credit Europe is seeking a highly skilled Senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer with expertise in data migration and transformation. Join our Data Engineering Organization and play a pivotal role in migrating complex data systems to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while ensuring scalability and efficiency. This strategic position is based in Dunton, UK, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical Data Engineering team in Europe, facilitating the transition from legacy systems to GCP.
• Design and implement robust data pipelines with automated data lineage, utilizing key GCP services such as BigQuery, DataFlow, and Cloud Functions.
• Manage the data migration lifecycle to enable the decommissioning of the Teradata platform by end-2025 while maintaining regulatory reporting integrity.
• Collaborate closely with global teams in the US and India to align with global data engineering standards.
• Responsible for the end-to-end strategy from code reviews to data certification with external vendors.

Essential Skills

• Over 5 years of data engineering experience with a focus on data warehousing and ETL development.
• Proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of GCP services related to data processing and storage solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and experience in developing solutions at a production scale on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate within a diverse and global team.

Desired Expertise

• GCP Professional Data Engineer certification.
• Background in financial environments, specifically with Teradata to GCP migrations.
• Expertise in SQL, Python, Java, or Apache Beam and familiarity with microservice architecture.
• Experience in data security, governance, and cloud compliance best practices.
