The Role This is a fully remote position available anywhere in Europe. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You will report to the Head of Data Engineering. Our Data Engineering team, in collaboration with the Frontend, Backend, and DevOps teams, is at the core of everything we do at Plentific and continually takes on challenging problems such as data pipelines, ML/AI, online payments, quoting, invoicing, booking, search/scoring algorithms, ETL, in-app messaging, Public APIs, real-time notifications, and fraud prevention. The Data Engineering team primarily focuses and manages the analytics products, Machine Learning systems, the data warehouse, Public APIs, real-time data pipelines, and AI in general. Most code so far is written in Python and SQL. Our tech stack includes, among others: AWS, Kubernetes, Django, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, ElasticSearch, dbt, Looker, scikit-learn, FastAPI, Celery, Jenkins, GitHub. Responsibilities - You will be responsible for larger production codebases and will also carry out software architecture designs and reviews. The role involves extensive hands-on coding, as an individual contributor, without any people management responsibilities. However, you will have the opportunity to mentor juniors. - You will be expected to possess an ardent desire to learn and keep abreast with technology. Interacting with other senior members of the entire engineering organization is a daily routine. - Be a significant contributor to the Plentific codebase across features - Be comfortable managing production systems end-to-end, from design to execution to release and maintenance - Collaborate with Product stakeholders to understand, define, develop, and implement scalable, cutting-edge solutions that wow our customers - Advocate best coding practices, documentation, reviews, unit and integrations testing, data quality and security, and performance Requirements Skills - Excellent Python and SQL skills, but you should be open to learning other programming languages - A strong interest in learning and developing AI-powered systems (such as LLM-based) - A self-starter who takes responsibility for their work, accepts direction and feedback from co-workers and managers, and willingly helps make anyone’s good idea a reality - Ability to think creatively with a can-do attitude to achieve things efficiently - Excellent English communication skills Experience and Qualifications - Over 5 years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer - Experience with Machine Learning is mandatory, as we are significantly expanding our capabilities in this area Benefits As you see, we are rapidly advancing with our ambitious plans and are keen to expand our team of achievers to reach our vision of managing over 2 million properties through our platform across various countries.
