Position Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer at JetBlue Travel Products is a pivotal role focusing on leading advanced data management and analytics initiatives. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Data Engineering, this position is perfect for a leader passionate about designing, developing, and managing innovative data infrastructure solutions. The successful candidate will mentor a talented team of engineers, leading the way in the digital transformation of our business, collaborating with major partners within JetBlue’s ecosystem, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in travel technology.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead the full lifecycle of data management products, from conception to deployment and beyond.
• Mentor the data engineering team, fostering an environment of consistency and excellence.
• Champion engineering excellence, attracting top talent and nurturing a culture of innovation.
• Collaborate with product management and marketing to align the product vision with business needs.
• Develop robust data infrastructures that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Engage in cutting-edge DevOps practices specific to data engineering challenges.
• Guide integration and software development by external business partners to align with company standards.
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies through partnerships with JetBlue Tech Ventures (JTV).

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience in engineering roles, demonstrating a deep understanding of software development and system management.
• Proven ability in managing high-stakes environments, adhering to SLAs, and fostering significant client and team relationships.
• Candidates must be available for occasional overnight travel, pass rigorous background checks, and be legally eligible to work in the USA.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Seven (7) years or more in progressive technology roles, with hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Advanced skill in architecting and deploying Big Data solutions across major virtualized environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
