About the Role: Senior Data Scientist – Financial Crime

The Payment Security & Risk Data Science team at Mastercard is seeking a dynamic Senior Data Scientist to innovate, develop, and deploy models combatting global financial crimes. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about leveraging their analytical skills to create real-world solutions in the fight against financial crime.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deploy industry-leading models to clients worldwide.
• Conduct Proof-of-Value assessments with key customers.
• Lead research and development efforts to create new ML-powered tools.
• Maintain and optimize in-production models to continually meet user needs.
• Collaborate with various teams to integrate new services and enhance model performance.
• Work closely with Engineering teams to ensure seamless production deployment.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Data Scientist position should have robust experience in developing and deploying machine learning models at scale. You should be capable of expressing complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and consistently prioritize delivering customer value in your projects.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience in scientific methodologies and high-quality output generation.
• Strong ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both in writing and verbally.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with Unix CLI, Python, GoLang, Java, Dagster, MLFlow, Hadoop, Snowflake.
• Experience building models focused on fraud, scams, money laundering.
• Knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including blockchain and cryptocurrency landscapes.
