Overview

Join our dynamic team at M&T Bank as a Senior Data Visualization Analyst. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to design and apply standards, templates, and themes for dashboards and reports. This role involves creating descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive visuals that empower the business to make data-driven decisions. As a mentor, you will guide and support less experienced visualization team members through their development journey.

Position Responsibilities

• Utilize expert Business Intelligence (BI) platform skills to integrate advanced calculations, develop intricate data flows, and compile complex dashboards/reports for presentations.
• Apply standardized templates and themes to ensure uniform visual aesthetics for specific audiences.
• Leverage knowledge of visual perception principles to refine dashboards/reports, delivering information dynamically and comprehensibly.
• Develop templates for data dashboards/reports to support consistency and clarity within the data visualization team.
• Implement best practices for BI report navigation and publication, manage permissions, monitor visualization usage, and provide user access.
• Collaborate with data teams, using programming languages, to query, structure, and model data for dashboards/reports.
• Utilize expertise in business and technical metadata, data quality, and issue resolution to create accurate data models within BI tools.
• Drive business insights through descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive reporting by selecting advanced visuals to highlight trends and outliers.
• Mentor team members in best practices for data visualization, use of templates, and facilitate learning opportunities.
• Work with business partners to test dashboards/reports and recommend enhancements.
• Gather visualization requirements from business stakeholders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience, or a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years in a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Proficiency in Python, SAS, SQL.
• Experience in designing and developing advanced dashboards/reports and data visualizations.
• Expert knowledge in data visualization techniques and approaches.
• Experience in incorporating data storytelling into visualizations.

Compensation

M&T Bank is dedicated to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The salary range for this position is $97,869.52 - $163,115.87 annually (USD). The specific compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s unique combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
