Senior Developer – Big Data, ETL Insight at Citi

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst role is an intermediate-level position focused on the development and implementation of new or updated application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team.

Our goal is to contribute significantly to application systems analysis and programming activities.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end design, development, testing, and release of key components, including sprint planning.
• Designing partitioned and non-partitioned tables, indexes, temporary tables, and external tables to optimize storage and performance.
• Information Management in areas like Enterprise Architecture Planning, Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Data Warehousing.
• Design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant ETL Pipelines on BigData Platforms to process vast amounts of contract information with high availability.
• Performance tuning through understanding ETL DAGs on data structures within Relational & BigData Platforms, enhancing the performance of both ETL and Reporting Components.
• Managing the Release process via RLM & SNOW for all SDLC phases on Relational & BigData Platforms.
• Ensuring process compliance and managing leadership expectations.
• Active participation in brainstorming sessions, providing solid inputs, and ensuring team best practices.
• Offering extensive support to Development, SIT, and Production groups regarding Data Governance, Modeling, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in application/software development.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with ETL tools like Abinitio.
• Proficiency in Python, Shell, and Hive.
• Strong SQL expertise.
• Experience with financial applications or finance processes is advantageous.
• Familiarity with vendor products such as Tableau, Arcadia, Paxata, and KNIME is a plus.
• Extensive experience working in a multicultural environment and achieving results with virtual teams.
• A strong background with a proven record of leadership, experience, and performance.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of various analyses or reviews.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
