Your Role as a Senior Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Coaching and leading an engineering team of over 30, comprising Frontend, Backend, QA, Data Science, and Machine Learning engineers working on Canva's newest AI features.
• Developing and driving the long-term vision to accelerate the delivery of robust, innovative, and safe conversational interactions.
• Collaborating closely with our product management and design teams to prototype and implement tools that enhance user creativity and productivity.
• Setting goals and defining success metrics to ensure alignment between the company, group, and teams.
• Advocating for engineering needs across Canva and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Managing hiring and resource planning for roadmap execution.

• You possess significant technical expertise in Artificial Intelligence, especially with conversation, dialog, and large language models.

About the Team

Part of the Generative AI Supergroup, the Conversational Experiences Group (ConvEx) focuses on empowering the world to design by providing personalized creative collaborators. 2024 is an incredible time to join us as the problem space and industry are advancing rapidly. You will have a direct influence on our plans to scale AI experiences for over 100 million Canva customers.
