About The Role As a Senior Data Science Manager, you will be embedded directly in a team of accomplished data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software engineers. Your key role will be to aid in the formation, management and operation of complex models to solve critical problems in improving our logistics network and user experiences. Your work will involve partnering with product managers to comprehend valuable business problems, creating systems to inform daily operations, and employing novel technology. In addition to this, you will work closely with your team to incorporate the models you build into the production systems that drive Veho. Responsibilities Include: - Understanding business context and gathering requirements - Identifying opportunities to shape product roadmaps via collaboration with major business units - Coordinating the team to build reliable, efficient, and scalable models for our AI/ML capabilities - Creating robust data pipelines to support analyses and models - Ensuring data quality and integrity through data integration best practices - Analyzing and evaluating the impact and effectiveness of models in production systems What You Bring: - A Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in data science or data engineering, or a Master’s Degree with 5 years in data science, or a Ph.D. with 3 years of experience in Data Science - 3+ years of experience managing a team of data scientists and/or machine learning engineers - Experience in using statistical modelling and machine learning techniques to solve business problems - Proven leadership skills in end-to-end, real-time machine learning and data science projects - Strong communication skills - At least 3 years of experience with open-source languages and tools used for large-scale data analytics like Python, numpy, and/or distributed data processing systems like Spark - At least 3 years of experience with analytical relational databases like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake - At least 3 years of experience working with cloud-based data engineering and data science tools - Experience with MLOps and model deployment pipelines - Experience with logistics and/or the gig economy are beneficial but not necessary - Experience with combinatorial optimization methods is beneficial but not required Veho is a growth company that actively wants its team members to evolve with it.
