LMI is actively seeking a talented Software Developer (Backend) with a minimum of a SECRET clearance and 2 years of experience. This is a 100% remote position with minimal travel, supporting an essential program for the US Army. The role entails developing and updating backend code for multiple Python-based applications, primarily supporting AI/ML solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update backend code for multiple Python-based applications
• Write, design, and implement code using Python
• Develop and execute unit tests for product components
• Collaborate with a software development team using GitLab
• Meet with Army managers and representatives to discuss software issues and brainstorm solutions
• Write and update original code, ensuring all code meets program requirements
• Document and test your own code methodically
• Work both independently and as part of a team
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills

Percentage of Travel Required: 10%

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of Python development experience with web frameworks
• Experience with Django required, Flask is a plus
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Service-Oriented Architecture
• Experience in planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software for an enterprise-level system
• Experience using industry guidelines and best practices, including Git, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated deployments
• Active SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• Knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript programming languages
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience developing applications for classified data
• Experience in integrating machine learning and analytical tools
• Knowledge of the Army software development process and technologies
• 5 years of directly related experience
