The Team

As a temporary full-time member of Oracle Labs, you’ll tackle complex software research and engineering problems. Areas of focus include software composition analysis, cloud security, vulnerability detection, and much more. Use skills in machine learning, data engineering, and cloud development to advance state-of-the-art software. Tailor projects to fit your unique experience. This is a paid position, remunerated in line with industry standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project lead and team to develop innovative software solutions.
  • Adhere to software development processes and engineering best practices.
  • Apply computer science knowledge to solve real-world problems.
  • Evaluate and analyze different software solution approaches for functionality, scalability, and performance.
  • Design and develop software prototypes for proof of concept.
  • Present and refine solution proposals based on team feedback.
  • Design, implement, test, and evolve software solutions.
  • Deliver end-of-project presentations to a wider audience at Oracle Labs.

What You'll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications)

  • Completion of a Master’s degree program in Computer Science or a relevant science/engineering field during the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Proficiency in Java and at least two of the following languages: Node.js, C/C++, Python, JavaScript.
  • Experience in three or more areas: Compilers, Algorithms and Data Structures, Software Tools Development, Web Application Development, Cloud Development, Linux Environments, Security, Distributed Systems, Program Analysis Techniques.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a remote team environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Eligible to work in Canada in 2024.

Salary and Benefits

Hiring Range: $50,500 to $110,000 CAD per annum

Note: Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to reflect knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on these factors and internal peer equity.
