Position: Systems Engineer - 2nd Shift

This role operates Monday through Friday, from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automation strategies within the Asheville, NC manufacturing site.
  • Support new product development through automation installation, configuration, deployment, updates, and maintenance.
  • Handle backup, recovery, and archiving processes for Automation Networks.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and troubleshoot network performance issues.
  • Contribute to manufacturing method development and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Implement site standards for controls, robotics, and automation, including cybersecurity measures.
  • Deploy and manage edge computing and software-defined networking.
  • Design and debug hardwired components and maintain standard engineering documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • In the absence of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years of related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Experience with databases and scripting.

Preferred

  • Experience with C++, Java, Python, Fortran, etc.
  • Admin level experience with IT networks, configuration, monitoring, analysis, and testing.
  • Familiarity with version control tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Studio 5000 Logix Designer, RS Networks, and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with controls hardware design and troubleshooting.
  • Background in evaluation and implementation of control standards and PLC code development.

As a Systems Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge technology (SDM) and have opportunities for cross-training with the Automation & Robotics Engineering teams.

Role Type and Benefits

In this onsite role, you'll primarily work at our Asheville location. Employees are responsible for commuting to and from the site. The salary range is $77,000 USD - $163,000 USD, varying based on experience, role, location, and other factors.

Employees may also be eligible for several benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Annual incentive compensation programs depend on individual, business unit, and company performance. Specific terms apply based on the business unit and collective-bargaining agreements.
