What you'll do

  • You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of devoted and skilled Data Engineers, nurturing a cooperative and high-performance work environment. This includes providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
  • You will maintain the target architecture specification and reference architectures of our data platform up-to-date.
  • You will continuously research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where required.
  • You will assess the needs of the company and then design, build, and integrate information systems.
  • You will define best practices, standard processes, and architectures for use cases within the data domain.
  • You will stay connected with our stakeholders, both on the business side as well as the technical side, and provide updates on forthcoming developments. You stay ahead of the company's challenges and proactively consider potential contributions from your team.
  • You will become an expert for our tools set, defining how it should be used, and continually search for upgrades or improvements.
  • You will manage data engineering projects, including resource allocation, project timelines, and deliverables. You will ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within scope.

Who we are looking for

  • You have strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a high-performing team.
  • You have demonstrated experience in the realm of Data Engineering, ideally within the e-commerce industry.
  • You have proved your ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • You have initial experience in a people leadership position.
  • You have a good understanding of related domains such as software development, Data Analytics, and Data Science.
  • You are highly self-organized and interested in taking on ownership and leading the team to the best solution.
  • You have strong analytical skills and are an open-minded and creative team player.
