At Navy Federal Credit Union, we’re seeking a Technical Data Steward to empower our business areas with robust data governance. As a key member of our team, your role focuses on enhancing data stewardship, ensuring data quality, and supporting our business stakeholders through the development and implementation of effective data governance models.
Key Responsibilities:
The Technical Data Steward will:
- Coordinate and manage technical data across different business areas, ensuring accurate definition and usage.
- Provide technical guidance and support to various team members in executing data governance activities.
- Drive the implementation of data governance models including program management, setting standards, metadata management, data quality procedures, and data lifecycle management.
- Build, manage, and maintain a comprehensive data catalog to enhance business operations and data discovery.
- Collaborate with business data stewards and stakeholders to ensure data rules and definitions align with business objectives.
- Implement information security standards, like encryption and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
- Develop and oversee master data management processes and support the resolution of data-related issues.
- Design data audits and tools, educating business data stewards on their application to promote data integrity and compliance.
Required Skills and Experience:
Candidates should have:
- Proven experience in data cataloging, metadata collection, and master data management.
- Strong background in developing data governance frameworks across organizational levels.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Azure Data Studio, and familiarity with programming languages like T-SQL & Python.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL tools, and data integration across platforms such as Service Now and PowerBI.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and the ability to handle data quality issues and data movement analysis.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
