The Role: Transportation Data Analyst

As a Transportation Data Analyst, you play a crucial role in the backbone of our app's success. Your expertise helps manage and optimize the timetable data that powers the Citymapper application. You will transform complex transit schedules into clear and reliable information for our users. Your contributions make it possible for our users to catch their bus on time, rather than watching it drive away. They rely on us for punctuality, whether it's getting to work, a job interview, or a personal engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Management and processing of transit data into user-friendly formats using proprietary tools.
• Daily building, validation, and deployment of data to the production environment.
• Handling data across different cities and formats, ensuring consistency and reliability.
• Collaborating with engineers to scale solutions and automate processes.
• Upholding high data quality to maintain and enhance user trust and satisfaction in Citymapper.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A passion for public transportation and urban development.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and eager to learn new data management skills.
• A hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong communication skills to liaise with team members.
• Up to 3 years of experience in data management, with proficiency in Python and common transit data formats (GTFS, TransXChange, Siri, Hafas, etc).

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $30-$40, commensurate with experience, along with full benefits provided by our contracting agency.
