Job Context:

The power sector is undergoing significant transformation. To support this rapid growth, GEMS Iberia established a new team, RES Operations (RES OPS), at the end of 2023, focusing on renewable energy. The RES OPS team collaborates closely with business developers, structurers, traders, and support functions to address their data management and process automation needs. They are responsible for:

  • Ensuring operational excellence in real-time environments
  • Providing tools for effective portfolio contract management
  • Maintaining high-quality central database data for renewable asset management
  • Facilitating the production of reports and data analysis

Role: Renewable Portfolio Data Analyst

As a Renewable Portfolio Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing new systems and fulfilling the following key responsibilities:

  • Acquire a deep understanding of business processes to propose optimal solutions for new challenges
  • Develop data flows required by the business
  • Enhance existing processes to ensure scalability
  • Maintain relationships with service providers to ensure data flow continuity
  • Implement data management best practices and develop data quality tools
  • Collaborate with the IT team to improve GEMS Iberia's current data management systems

Required Skills:

Hard Skills:

  • Familiarity with finance and/or energy fields
  • Proficiency in coding and scripting with Python
  • Strong data management skills
  • Comfort with collaboration and open communication across functional borders
  • Experience with Dataiku or AWS is an advantage

Soft Skills:

  • Strong focus on business outcomes
  • Experience working closely with IT teams
  • Driven by excellence and high-performance standards

Education and Professional Background:

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in engineering, business engineering, mathematics, or physics.

Languages:

Fluent English is required; Spanish is a plus.
