Job Description

We are seeking a Virtual Commissioning Engineer who will be responsible for the adherence to Electrical PLC and HMI standards across automated projects. In this role, you will be tasked with the virtual validation of PLC/HMI designs within emulation and simulation environments.

The Virtual Commissioning Engineer will:

• Collaborate with internal business partners, material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, electrical control manufacturers, and consultants to ensure compliance with UPS standards and safety regulations.
• Develop functional tests, workflows, and commissioning protocols in partnership with internal and external partners.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, including PLC control systems, remote panels, and wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate with construction companies (GC) to ensure safety and quality regulations are met.
• Supervise virtual commissioning sessions.

This role can be fulfilled by a 100% virtual remote employee.

Knowledge and Skills

• BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent in: Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience as a Controls or Robotics engineer.
• Exposure or experience with Tecnomatix Process Simulate, Emulate3D, and/or WinMOD is preferred.
• Exposure or experience with 3D CAD design software.
• Exposure or experience with computer programming languages such as C#, C++, and Python.
• Experience in facilitating design review meetings.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills for collaborative work with internal and external partners.
