Position Overview:

At Meta Reality Labs Research (RLR), we are at the forefront of developing innovative interfaces and hardware for augmented, virtual, and mixed-reality technologies. We are excited to invite a skilled and motivated Wearable Sensing Research Scientist to join our dynamic team, dedicated to pioneering the future of AR/VR interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Cutting-Edge Research: Design and evaluate breakthrough sensor technologies for enhanced user interactions within AR and VR environments.
  • Design, Prototype, and Experiment: Lead the creation of prototypes and conduct comprehensive tests to refine sensor concepts.
  • Analyze Data: Leverage data from experiments to enhance sensor interaction methods and technologies.
  • Model and Fuse Sensor Signals: Develop and implement advanced sensor fusion and machine learning algorithms to enhance device capabilities.
  • Drive Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and researchers to integrate sensor technologies into immersive experiences.
  • Advance Sensor Technology: Push the limits of sensor technology to contribute to pioneering AR/VR research projects.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of research processes and results.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in wearable sensor technologies and signal processing.
  • Proficient in programming (Python, C++, MATLAB) and experienced in sensor prototyping and experimental design.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with wearable sensors or systems
  • Familiarity with haptic rendering techniques and psychophysics
  • Prior experience or publications in sensor signal modeling or human-computer interaction

Compensation and Benefits:

The role offers a competitive salary range from US$143,000 to US$208,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and extensive benefits. Final compensation packages are tailored based on experience and location.
