Join Our Team as a Wetland Scientist at WSP

WSP is seeking a highly skilled Wetland Scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our projects in the New England area. Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Wetland Scientist at WSP, you will:

• Perform detailed waters/wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations in line with the 1987 USACE Wetland Delineation Manual and its Regional Supplements.
• Conduct Wetland and Stream Functional Assessments, Plant and Habitat Surveys.
• Identify and survey rare, threatened, and endangered species as well as special status species.
• Lead Invasive Species Surveys and Mapping initiatives.
• Manage data processing, establish QA/QC workflows, and generate comprehensive summary reports.
• Engage with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients, maintaining a confident and professional demeanor.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of project work.
• Make ethical decisions concerning company resources and adhere strictly to WSP's conduct codes and policies.

Who We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife, or a related life sciences field.
• 3-5 years of experience in leading wetland-related projects.
• Proven ability in plant and habitat surveys, with strong botanical skills being an advantage.
• Experience with tablet-based field data collection tools, such as ArcGIS Field Maps.
• Ability to work under diverse weather conditions, traverse challenging terrains, and manage fieldwork independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ArcGIS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and clients.
• Must meet WSP’s criteria for motor vehicle operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• 40-Hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
• Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.
• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) Certification and/or New Hampshire State Wetland Scientist Certification.

This position requires routine travel and flexibility in work schedule depending on project demands.
