Join Our Team as a Junior Data Analyst in Personalization & Loyalty at REWE Group

Location: 50933 Cologne | Type: Full-time, Permanent | Job-ID: 844160

What We Aim to Achieve Together:

As part of REWE Group's Analytics division, located within the Executive Department of Customer, Analytics & Technology, we aim to integrate all strategic, analytical, and business support functions under one roof within Trade Germany. Our division is undergoing an exciting transformation with the goal of establishing advanced analytics and artificial intelligence as complementary value drivers in all key business decisions. Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams provide the perfect work environment to advance the development of analytical products and use cases. Join us in elevating AA & AI in German retail to a new level!

Your Impact:

Do you aspire to analytically support the 6,500 REWE and Penny markets in their decision-making processes, base the future strategy of Trade Germany on a data-driven foundation, or develop an AI-based liquidity forecast? If you enjoy working at the interface and in direct contact with stakeholders, solving complex problems, and diving deep into data structures, then embrace both roles in one – as an Analytics Consultant. In our team, you will act as a translator between the Analytics organization and business departments, focusing on developing data-driven solutions for business queries.

  • Contributing Value: As an Analytics Consultant, you'll drive exciting and challenging advanced analytics projects in the food retail sector to sustainably optimize decision-making processes that have a direct impact on our markets' business, future strategy, or financial projects within Trade Germany. Additionally, you're contributing by establishing analytical products that leverage business potentials.
  • Creating Efficient Processes: You'll capture, structure, analyze, and visualize existing business processes to optimize and develop them further.
  • Integrating Analytics into Business: Closely intertwined with business departments, you identify analytical needs and proactively develop recommendations based on data evaluations, which you present and communicate at various management levels.
  • Driving Innovation: Questioning the status quo, you'll advance reporting and continually assess both the need for and the possibility of automating them, always seeking opportunities to implement improved or entirely new analysis procedures.

What Convinces Us:

  • Your personality, featuring excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with strong communication abilities - especially towards non-expert colleagues and listeners, and a passion for data analysis.
  • Your ability to quickly comprehend new business queries and flexibly respond with appropriate analytical methods.
  • A strong sense of service and team orientation, enthusiasm for working in an agile and dynamic environment, and always keeping up-to-date with technologies and developments.
  • A completed master’s degree related to Analytics (e.g., Business Informatics, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc.) is preferred.
  • In-practice experience in data analysis and analytical projects – experience in cloud environments is a plus.
  • Very good programming skills with substantial experience in SQL (e.g., Snowflake) or Python, and some experience with Digital Analytics Solutions like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics is beneficial.
  • Solid skills in the target-oriented preparation and visualization of insights with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or PowerPoint.
