The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Telephony & Data Analyst to design, develop, deploy, and operate the telephony and data infrastructure at Newcastle University. This includes support for our main campus in the UK and international locations in Malaysia and Singapore.

This role comes at a period of transformation within the Telephony & Data Team. We are planning a comprehensive upgrade of the University's network infrastructure and a shift to MS Teams-based telephony. The role encompasses significant changes to supporting systems and an increased use of automation to ensure flexible, reliable, and responsive IT services.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Telephony & Data Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and support of all telephony and data services, including structured cabling.
  • Acting as a senior subject matter expert (SME) and providing excellent operational support.
  • Proactive measurement and monitoring of services.
  • Mentoring and coaching team members, assisting the team manager in delivering objectives.
  • Participating in conferences, networking events, Special Interest Groups, and Vendor roadmaps for professional development.
