As a Data Engineer on the Data & Analytics Team at Zyte, you’ll collect, analyze, and interpret data, contributing to data-driven strategies and choices that will support key business intelligence functions.

You will play a significant role in enhancing our analytics services and contribute ideas to our data strategy with a focus on promoting processes and tools that result in higher data quality, and adopting best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Construct scalable and dependable data pipelines that collect, transform, load, and curate data from internal systems.
  • Create and maintain data transformation pipelines and ad-hoc reports to support business teams and enrich our visualization layer.
  • Develop processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand their data needs and provide support in data-centric projects.
  • Actively participate in our data community to facilitate knowledge sharing across the company and moderate on data engineering topics.
  • Provide in-depth insights by answering open-ended questions from datasets.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data modeling and designing pipelines/data warehousing solutions. Familiarity with /ELT tools such as dbt or Airflow is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience in comprehending, writing, and troubleshooting code in Python or equivalent scripting language.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS is necessary.
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience in advanced data modeling - you are capable of taking raw data from various data sources and transforming it into an optimized and scalable data model for end users.
  • Strategic instincts and sound judgment about the business implications of data analyses.

Good to have

  • Understanding of regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and managing PII data is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Looker/Metabase is beneficial.
  • Experience with main ML algorithms (classification, regression, prediction), and comprehension of the application of statistics in business, such as forecasting, causations, and correlations is a plus.

Education + Soft Skills

  • BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is a necessity.
  • An effective team player capable of fostering environments that aim for shared objectives, offers ideas, and is receptive to change.
  • Ability to identify the elements of a complicated situation or problem, and break them down into building blocks to formulate a system or solution that resolves it.
  • Good communicator with various business units and people, capable of helping them sketch out what they genuinely need.
  • A continuous learner interested in exploring new things and engaging in numerous projects and systems.
