Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and conduct scheduled performance reviews of staff.
  • Translate complex data into well-documented utilization and quality performance reports using advanced statistical methodologies.
  • Clean, reconcile, and interpret data from multiple sources to support decision-making.
  • Manage multiple high-priority projects to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain and document current reporting processes.
  • Lead and collaborate with diverse teams to achieve project consensus.
  • Set and monitor team goals and objectives.
  • Create reliable reports for management quality initiatives.
  • Balance the need for scientific rigor with timely outcomes information.
  • Anticipate impacts of new Healthcare Reform on Employer Analytics.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide management oversight including performance meetings and professional development of staff.
  • Set strategic and operational objectives.
  • Deliver advanced analytical support to senior leaders.
  • Organize and distribute complex financial analysis reports from multiple data systems.
  • Lead new strategic data-related projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on operational budgeting for the Data Analytics department.
  • Develop a prioritization process for deploying analytics resources.
  • Provide statistical analyses and technical data management guidance.
  • Manage large data and financial improvement projects.
  • Inform Business Intelligence development for key data systems.
  • Develop and support relational databases.
  • Ensure transparency in reports through clear documentation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in applied statistics, SQL programming, and data visualization software.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current and historical health plan database resources.
  • Automate comprehensive reports using advanced programming solutions.
  • Train new analysts and data coordinators.
  • Conduct team meetings and document departmental workflows.
  • Develop analytical methods and tool usage among staff.

Qualifications - Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Biological Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Health Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.

Qualifications - Experience:

  • Required: 7 years in management and/or analytical roles with multiple data systems and reporting tools.
  • Required: Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Preferred: 5 years in programming with T-SQL, SQL Reporting Services, and Tableau.
  • Required: 5 years in database management and advanced statistical analysis.
  • Required: 3 years in developing analytic presentations and written reports.
  • Preferred: Experience in HEDIS measurement and provider quality measurement.
  • Required: Experience managing professional staff and applying project management skills in data-related projects.
