Key Responsibilities

As a Research Engineer in our FAIR Core Learning segment, you will:

  • Develop advanced, scalable algorithms leveraging machine learning and neural network techniques.
  • Engage collaboratively with FAIR scientists to pioneer research in fields like generative modeling and reinforcement learning.
  • Utilize your deep knowledge in relevant research landscapes and exceptional coding proficiency in Python and PyTorch for development projects.
  • Optimize machine learning and neural network algorithms for modern parallel environments such as distributed clusters and GPUs.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, you must:

  • Possess or be in the final stages of obtaining a PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. Completion of your degree is required prior to commencement at Meta.
  • Bring at least one year of experience in areas such as reinforcement learning and generative modeling.
  • Have or be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • Showcase experience in developing machine learning algorithms or infrastructures specifically in Python and PyTorch.
  • Secure work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the period of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Our ideal candidate would also have:

  • Proven industry research expertise in reinforcement learning or generative modeling.
  • An ability to solve complex problems and weigh alternative solutions, trade-offs, and perspectives to chart a path forward.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills.
  • A strong publication record in reputed conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.
  • Prior software engineering experience demonstrated through internships, work, or coding competitions.

Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this role is $117,000 to $173,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Specific compensation is based on skills, qualifications, and location.
