Position Summary: Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering

We are seeking a talented Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you'll design, build, and manage large-scale data pipelines, warehouses, and efficient Extract/Load/Transform (ETL) workflows to support our business applications. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a substantial impact on our data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop extensive data warehouses and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for insights and reporting.
• Build high-performance data processing frameworks using cloud and/or on-premise data platforms.
• Write ETL processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
• Collaborate with Data Science/Engineering teams to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
• Utilize knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and designing and optimizing queries to build data pipelines.
• Leverage programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems.
• Build data marts and data models to support Data Science/Engineering and other internal customers.
• Ensure data quality and accessibility standards are adhered to while integrating data from various sources.
• Analyze current IT environments, identify critical capabilities, and recommend optimal solutions.
• Experiment with and advise on new tools to meet model/use case requirements.
• Design and develop data engineering solutions using industry-leading tools and technologies.

Requirements

Educational Background

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation, with expertise in:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems and hardware support.
• Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, IBM Pure App, and Google Cloud.
• Configuration management tools like Chef and Ansible.
• TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP protocols.
• RAID, SAN, NAS, and CIFS database/network storage.
• CPU scheduling, interprocess communication (IPC), and memory management.
• Firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems, and network access controls.
• VMware or Hypervisor virtualization technology.
• Server back-up and disaster recovery techniques, including snapshots, replication, and redundancy.

Alternative Job Requirements

Five (5) years of relevant experience, with expertise in the same skills listed above.

Pay Range

$115,000.00/year to $230,000.00/year. This pay range represents the base salary or hourly rate for all positions within the job grade. The actual salary will depend on various factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
