About the Position

As a Data Scientist at SARB, your main role will be to leverage data scientifically to identify, model, and enhance key business decisions within the National Payment System Department. The opportunity involves applying advanced analytical technology and business rules to streamline and improve decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

• Developing specification models for predictive analytics in accordance with data governance.
• Assessing and preparing necessary data, testing data integrity, and consolidating results.
• Analyzing data to identify actionable insights and incorporating these findings into project requirements.
• Designing and implementing predictive models and monitoring their effectiveness in making business recommendations.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge by researching and implementing the latest algorithms/models.
• Leading analytics initiatives and generating analytical outputs to aid strategic objectives.
• Executing effective performance management within the team, fostering a culture of high performance.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must possess:

• A Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or Computer or equivalent.
• At least seven years of experience in data science.
• Expertise in Python, R, SAS, Scala, and SQL.
• Proficiency in statistical and ML techniques.
• Experience handling large datasets and utilizing modern technology platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP is preferred.
• Skilled in data visualization tools such as Power BI, SAS, Tableau, and MicroStrategy.
• Proven ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and work collaboratively on large-scale projects.
