Job Overview

Join a team of top engineers and researchers at Apple who specialize in building foundation models. We develop infrastructure, datasets, and models with general capabilities such as understanding and generating text, images, speech, videos, and other modalities, which are then applied to enhance Apple products.

Key Responsibilities

As a passionate researcher, you will work on developing algorithms, techniques, and systems in the field of deep learning to create innovative solutions for millions of users. You will collaborate with a close-knit and growing team of world-class engineers and scientists to tackle some of the most challenging problems in foundation models and deep learning, encompassing areas like natural language processing, multi-modal understanding, and combining learning with knowledge.

Example applications include (but are not limited to):

• Web-scale information retrieval
• Human-like conversational agents
• Multi-modal perception for existing products and future hardware platforms
• On-device intelligence with strong privacy protections

Additionally, you will have opportunities to identify and develop novel applications of deep learning in Apple products, with your ideas being published and improving the experience of millions of users.

Key Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in deep learning with a publication record in prominent conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, ACL, ICASSP, InterSpeech) or a track record of applying deep learning techniques to products.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning toolkits like JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Education & Experience

PhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, the base pay is part of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specific range. This provides growth opportunities as you develop within the role. The base pay range for this position is between $170,700 and $300,200, dependent on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
