Job Description

We are seeking a driven AI/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Engineer to join our technology team, focusing on automating railway track equipment to enhance railroad operation safety. This role offers a remarkable chance to advance your professional expertise within a specialized team at Harsco Rail.

The successful candidate will be involved in designing and developing scalable AI solutions using machine learning models. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting neural network challenges, leveraging big data tools, creating prototypes, conducting training and evaluations of models, and integrating and testing solutions on-site. Experience with programming languages such as C and C++ and software development on Linux platforms is required.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI neural network solutions for real-time railway maintenance equipment applications.
• Implement and refine ML algorithms.
• Develop and implement communication protocols.
• Generate essential project documentation and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Apply problem-solving skills to resolve software design and development issues.
• Travel up to 15% of the time to meet project demands.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or related field with equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in developing complex neural network models for computer vision and software development using C++, Python.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, Café, PyTorch, and edge devices such as NVIDIA Jetson.
• Expertise in supervised and semi-supervised learning, deep learning, and statistical machine learning models.
