Position: Assistant Professor in Machine Learning for Quantum Systems (0.8-1.0 FTE)
The applied quantum algorithms (aQa) group at LIACS is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position (0.8-1.0 FTE) specializing in the application of machine learning to quantum physics. Potential applications include, but are not limited to, using classification methods for identifying phases of matter, optimizing experimental protocols, and controlling ultracold atoms.
The successful candidate will have a proven research track record connecting machine learning with quantum physics. We are looking for someone passionate about enhancing machine learning methods for exact sciences and thriving in our collaborative culture. This full-time position initially spans one year, with the possibility of extension to a permanent role based on positive evaluation outcomes. The salary range is €4,332 to €5,929 gross per month (pay scale 11 according to the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). Additional benefits include holiday bonuses (8%), end-of-year bonuses (8.3%), training, and career development opportunities.
