Position Specific Description

Our relentless focus on innovation has made us the world's largest producer of Wind and Solar Energy. We seek passionate, data-driven individuals to join our Ignite Data Analytics Program. This unique program offers the opportunity to merge your enthusiasm for data analytics with groundbreaking advancements in renewable energy. Over the course of 12 months, you'll work alongside top data experts on impactful AI and machine learning projects, preparing you for a prominent role in the energy sector.

About the Program

As a full-time employee of NextEra, you'll spend your first year working on various AI and Machine Learning projects. These projects address real challenges and opportunities within NextEra Energy. Alongside this practical experience, you'll receive continuous training in data science and analytics, learning from industry leaders. After 12 months, you'll transition to a full-time Data Science or Data Analytics role, maintaining our innovative momentum across the business.

Program positions are available in Juno Beach, Jupiter, and West Palm Beach.

About You

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Hold an undergraduate, master's, or PhD in a technology or mathematical discipline.
  • Are passionate about data, proficient in coding (e.g., Python, C#, R), and have a portfolio showcasing their analytical skills.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and a desire to drive personal and communal growth.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment focused on reusable software applications.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates are self-starters with experience in:

  • Initiating projects (open-source, corporate, academic, community, start-ups).
  • Developing data models, algorithms, and analytics tailored to specific scenarios.
  • Assessing model effectiveness.
  • Managing client relationships on technical projects.
  • Using diverse data gathering techniques and ensuring data integrity.
  • Conducting ad-hoc analysis and presenting clear results.
  • Communicating results and insights to decision-makers.

Preferred Technologies

Experience with:

  • Machine Learning techniques (classification, regression, feature selection).
  • Data visualization techniques.
  • Programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, Scala, Java).
  • Statistical tools and libraries (R, Spark, H2O.ai, scikit-learn).
  • Statistical techniques and concepts.

Job Overview
